Flashback was invited once again to perform at the Annual Taste Of Milford Event on Sept. 7th, 2001. (The band has performed at every T.O.M. since it's inception several years ago). Thanks to the United Way Of Milford for having us back again! Last year was a great success. We always look forward to this concert! Bring the whole family down to the pavilion behind the Milford Library for Dinner and sample some of the area's finest cuisine!
Sept. 15th
It was a cold night in Shelton, but a loyal group of fans stayed to the
chilly end to cap off the last outdoor show of the season. Plenty of good food,
carnival rides and events were on hand for the annual Tomato Festival. Thanks to
the folks who came out for the show and to the First United Methodist Church for
having us back again this year!
Sept. 7th
Once again, the annual Taste Of Milford proved to be a success. Each year,
more attractions are added. It's becoming a small Festival (free gifts, face
painting, great food). There were events at the head of the harbor as well as
the main area. An estimated 6000 people turned out for the event, raising
$23,200.00 for the United Way of Milford. "Amazing Andy" entertained the
audience with a magic show, and later on, roamed the crowd on a pair of stilts
(no easy feat!) After Andy, the Milford Senior Citizen band performed many old
classics for the crowd. Hats off to these musicians for keeping this great
music alive.
Flashback performed from 7:30-9:30, with a special guest appearance by the founder & original Lead Singer of Flashback, Mr Brian Hulse (who retired on 12/31/2000). He joined the band for "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", "Stagger Lee", and finally "Shout" to end off the evening. Retired drummer Don Gillotti was also in the crowd for the show. Brian Smith, popular morning DJ for WPLR and friend of the band was also on hand, as was Vinnie Carr of the Vinnie Carr Party Band.
Right after the show, we were treated to an excellent fireworks display, the first we've seen in Milford for quite some time. The Fireworks were sponsored & paid for by:
| Berchem, Moses & Devlin | |
| Stonebridge Restaurant | |
| Shoreline Mortgage |
Thanks to these folks for a great display and to all who helped make this a wonderful evening of food & fun for everyone.
Special thanks to The United Way & The New Haven Savings Bank for sponsoring the show and inviting us back again this year
